Diploma Policy

The Graduate School of Engineering will train highly specialized engineers and researchers who have solid expertise and high ethical standards and can contribute to the well-developed human society in harmony with nature and the environment. In particular, in the Master’s program, we will train human resources with a broad knowledge and a bird’s-eye view as a generalist who can understand the diversity of fields as well as have the deep knowledge as a specialist and who can also see the fusion of different fields and the promotion of interdisciplinary fields in cooperation with others. Based on the above objectives for human resource development, the Graduate School of Engineering decides a diploma policy for Master$B!G(Bs program as below; Students reach the following goals related to knowledge and abilities, and utilize and practice them in solving problems.

(a) Have a high level of specialized knowledge and ability, as well as a wide range of basic knowledge and a bird’s-eye view related to specialty.
(b) Have creativity, self-learning, problem finding / solving, and communication skills.
(c) Be aware of the ethics and social responsibilities to be respected as highly specialized engineers and contribute to the development of society with a broad perspective.
In each major, the above (a) will be as follows, based on the needs of society such as the career path after completion.

<Fundamental Engineering for Knowledge-Based Society>
(KSa) Has broad knowledge and perspective on human science, basic technology of information society, software and hardware of AI/IoT, and data science, and deep expertise, technology and abilities in the specific fields.

This policy also applies to the Global Engineering Program for International Studies (GEPIS).
