School of Engineering

Technical Division

Outline

The Division is a technician’ group consisting of three branches and six teams. The technical staff members from the Division are dispatched to centers and laboratories of the Faculty of Engineering. Each branch executes daily routine work in its specialized area, and the members also proactively participate in social contribution projects. In addition, the Division provides technical support through technical consulting to the teaching staff.

Branch 1 consists of the Mechanical System Team and the Apparatus Development and Experimental Manufacturing Team. The mechanical system team is involved in the design and manufacture of machines and apparatuses, and supports the experiments and practices of students. The members of the apparatus development and experimental manufacturing team are involved in the design and manufacture of precision-work parts, and the technical consultation in machining techniques, working cooperatively with CIRCLE and FIR FU.

Branch 2 consists of the Chemical Measurement Team and the Physical Measurement Team. The chemical measurement team is involved in the development of measurement technologies using a wide variety of instruments, mainly for the development of biological and chemical materials. The physical measurement team is involved in the development of measurement technologies in the research fields of civil engineering, architecture, electronic materials, and physics.

Branch 3 consists of the System Control Team and the System Design Team. The system control team is involved in the design and manufacturing of experimental apparatuses, development of measurement control technologies, and support of experiments by the students, based on electric and electronic, material development, and intelligent systems engineering. The system design team is involved in the design and manufacture of software and hardware, as well as the maintenance and management of networks, servers, and the home pages.
